MiniPolo is a simplified version of WaterPolo where the pace is gentler and the focus is on teamwork and fun. It’s all about building confidence, learning skills, and enjoying the game!

YEAR LEVEL/S        

Years 4-6. 

*younger players may be allowed to join in dependent on swimming ability and confidence in the pool*

Term 1 - beginning early February 2026

Term 4 - beginning mid October 2026

TEAM SIZE

The ideal number is 8-10 players. There are 6 in the pool at one time. 1 goalie and 5 players in the pool.

GAME LENGTH

Games are 2 x 10-minute halves and a half time break.                   

COST               

Approx $140 

Normal pool entry fees to Karori Pool will still apply for trainings.

COMPETITION

Teams will play one to two games per week on a Friday evening at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (Kilbirnie). Games may range from 4.00 - 7.00pm. Mini Polo will be played in the half-sized pool.

Team training sessions will be held once a week at Karori pool.​​​​​​​ Usually Thursday's, 7.30-8.00am at Karori pool - subject to pool availability. 

 
UNIFORM
School swimming togs (or special Marsden Water Polo togs). The sports department provides water polo caps for games.​​​​​​​

COACHES/MANAGERS

Teams will likely be coached by one of our Marsden WaterPolo players. However, we welcome any parents who wish to coach to please get in touch!

It is a requirement for all Marsden sports teams to have a parent manager to manage all team communciatons as well as a parent/adult to supervise during their weekly games. The team manager may be a shared role by parents. Please consider whether you may be able to support your daughters team during the season, and indicate so on the registration form.
