MTBNZ National Events 2018....

MTBNZ are massively stoked to announce an exciting calendar of National events for 2018. Introducing the NZ National DH Series 2018 brought to you in collaboration with Hunua MTB Club and 440, AKDH, Descend Rotorua, Gravity Canterbury and Bike Wanaka. Plus, the South Island and North Island XCO Championships presented by Christchurch Singletrack and Rotorua MTBC.

We are also mega proud of our new website for all our National events - head to mtbnzevents.nz and check it out!! Please be patient...there are still some updates being done but go and have a gander and get those dates in your diaries.

There are going to be some sweet updates coming in over the next few weeks including out DH Series Champion and NI & SI XCO Champion jerseys which will be up for grabs for age graders as well as Elites. Big ups to our sponsors Ultimo Clothing who have helped us come up with a banging design!!

In the meantime, here's our first National events course announcement courtesy of the Christchurch Singletrack crew! The Christchurch Singletrack Club are amped about hosting the SI Champs in 2018! We checked in with Craig Tregurtha who said, "having not hosted a national series event since 2012 (their fifth time as hosts), they are excited to have some of the country’s best riders come and race on their new race course at Crocodile XC MTB Park". We're hoping a few Aussies will come and test their mettle against the Kiwis ahead of the Oceanias, which MTBNZ and Cycling New Zealand are very excited to see with the return of the Oceania MTB Championships to Kiwi soil in 2018 with NZ hosting the Continental Championships on 9-11 February.

If you missed the announcement have a read about it here and expect big news about the host venue this week!!!

MTBNZ would like to express a huge thanks to our affiliated clubs who are helping us deliver our National events in 2018: Hunua MTB Club, AKDH, Descend Rotorua, Rotorua MTB Club, Christchurch Singletrack, Gravity Canterbury and Bike Wanaka. If you're local to one of them and not already a club member then we strongly suggest you join one of them to show your support - we can't do this without them!!

Online entries opening soon. Lock the dates in for the summer and follow us on Facebook for updates!!

Oceania XCO & DH Champs 2018!!

Go Dunners!!

Signal Hill for Oceanias 2018!!!

Lock in a trip to Dunners for 9-11 February. Oceanias are coming back to Kiwi soil and Signal Hill is looking to be a cracking venue courtesy of event hosts Mountain Biking Otago!!

In partnership with CNZ and MBO, MTBNZ are very excited to announce the return of Oceania MTB Championships to Kiwi soil in 2018. Planning is already underway to deliver epic courses at Signal Hill (confirm venue). Defending Continental Champions, Samara Sheppard and Anton Cooper, are both stoked to see the event in New Zealand. Anton Cooper said, "I am really excited to be racing Oceania Champs in New Zealand again. As far as international MTB events go in NZ this is as big as we've had in recent memory and with lots of top Aussie competition bound to come to our shores it will be an exciting spectacle!". We think Anton is on the money too, this year Australian and New Zealand racers have graced the XC and DH World Cup podiums in 2017 with Sam Gaze, Anton Cooper, Bec Henderson, Tracy Hannah and Troy Brosnan all grabbing their spots in the top 3 this year and we predict a World class showdown in Dunners!!

Lock it in!
