U16 Tupuranga Championship - Netball Mainland support

Netball Mainland are looking forward to working with both Mid Canterbury and Christchurch Netball Centre’s on providing some wrap around support for those attending the U16 Tupuranga Championship in 2023.

With a focus on development, and using Netball as the waka to grow together, we are planning to offer sessions (3 each day across Saturday and Sunday of the Championship), designed to provide an informal learning opportunity for players, coaches, managers and umpires (NetballSmart sessions however will be for a specific audience).  Sessions will be scheduled for 45 min each, however additional discussions may be had at the conclusion.  Due to the draw, not all teams will be able to attend all sessions, but we hope to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to access at least 1-2 sessions.  We will have guest presenters joining us for the delivery, and am sure they will enjoy also spending some time at the Championship.

Topics that we are looking to focus on:

  • Grasping the in's and out's of game management
  • Enhance your physical capability in the umpiring domain
  • There is so much more to NetballSmart than a warm-up
  • The 'when & how' of substitutions from the mind of a winning coach
  • The 'where to' and 'how to' of the Netball resource world, and what’s new
  • Maximising your performance through a deeper understanding of the rules

We look forward to providing the final delivery schedule, once the draw for the Championship has been determined.

The Netball Mainland team are really looking forward to being a part of this great development opportunity provided by Mid Canterbury and Christchurch Netball Centre’s and will be around on both Saturday and Sunday to offer support.
