All social teams from Mid Canterbury Netball were invited to a NetballSmart educational night on Wednesday 26th April. An amazing number of registrations was received, with 56 representatives attending.

The aim of this evening was to ensure all teams this season know, and use, the NetballSmart Power Warm Up in a bid to reduce the number of injuries social players sustain, particularly at the start of each season, and gain a further understanding around the affordability of injuries - time away from work, family and other social commitments. Throughout the social space, a common theme of concern is space allocation and time constraints. Participants were asked to perform certain dynamic movements from the warm up in groups, limited to a confined space, then come up with fun variations and ways that the movements can be demonstrated, before taking the court.

Mid Canterbury Netball are continuing to support the importance of warming up by adding a few extra minutes between social grade games this year, so that all teams have the opportunity to warm up indoors properly!
