Netball Mainland Zone

TALENT SPOTTING - written by Crystal Wilkinson

We currently have an exciting opportunity to help identify netball players in the Y11 and Y12 age group, across the Mainland region.

We are looking for Talent Spotters in each Centre to help us with the identifying process.

How the talent process works:

Club, school and rep coaches will have the opportunity to nominate Y11 and Y12 players they believe have potential to go further in their netball careers. It is then the Talent Spotter’s (TS) role to ensure all nominated players are seen and reported on at least twice throughout the season, as well as aiming to view all top-level players in that age group at least once throughout the season, in their Centre. TS will attend as many games as possible, from Centre games, rep tournaments (U18’s – Dunedin), South Island Secondary Schools (SISS) and potentially New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS). Some Centres run Emerging Talent programmes or have Developments squads which are also great places for players to be observed. There will be Netball Mainland Camps in different locations throughout Mainland toward the end of the season, and an Advanced Camp in Christchurch after the season finishes, which will present more/final opportunities for players to be observed.

If you are interested in this role please contact your Centre for more information and to express your interest.
