Netball Mainland Zone

Mainland Youth Advisory Group (YAG) written by CNC YAG

The Mainland Netball Zone is lucky to have so many passionate youth within the region. A select group of these youth come together from all over the Mainland region over video call every month. This group is called the Mainland Youth Advisory Group (YAG). Our mission is to empower young voices and drive positive change in the world of netball, creating a platform for all youth to shape the future of sport together.

Some netball centres within the Mainland Zone such as Christchurch Netball Centre have their own smaller YAGs. The Christchurch YAG is comprised of Lottie Carey, Savannah Van Dyk, Lexi Phillips and are guided by Annalise Graham who is the Centre Activator at CNC. The CNC YAG are always looking for fresh faces to join their enthusiastic team! If you or anyone you know are interested, feel free to enquire to [email protected] . Our recent initiatives at CNC have included working alongside netball smart to create some preseason videos to promote the netball smart resources to youth within the community. Our future endeavours include running a shoe drive to provide a new home to used shoes and provide more accessibility to Netball to everyone. The CNC YAG also plan on holding ‘Youth Nights at Nga Puna Wai’ to connect youth from all sports from all over Christchurch.

The Mainland YAG’s current mission is to gain sponsorship to provide period products to the Netball community and remove stigmas surround periods especially within the sporting space. Join us on our mission to empower and advocate for the youth of today! Watch this space to see what the future holds for the Christchurch Netball and Mainland Youth Advisory Groups.
