CENTRE NEWS: Selwyn Netball Centre Community Update. written by Trinity Lauren - Centre Coordinator

We've kicked off the year on a productive note in our competition arena. Our Thursday Social League Competition continues to be a crowd-pleaser, boasting 13 teams competing across two grades. As we dive deeper into preparations for the upcoming season, we're thrilled about the abundance of fun and exciting activities awaiting us. Our season will be 15 weeks in duration (including semi’s and finals).

We're thrilled to announce that one of our coaches has been accepted into the Next Level Coaching Program by Netball Mainland, showcasing the calibre of our coaching staff. Additionally, our futureFERNS Facilitator Training saw five enthusiastic coaches attending the first session, highlighting our commitment to continuous learning. In our efforts to identify talent, we've submitted eleven potential candidates for various roles within the netball community. Moreover, we're exploring opportunities to strengthen coaching expertise through connections with industry leaders like Mikayla Gillespie and Hamish Clarkson.

The 2024 Rep Tournament Campaign kicked off with U16 and U18 personnel diving into a "Tournament Planning and Preparation" session. Facilitated by Kelly, Kiana from Netball Mainland, and Vicky Taggart, CNC’s former U18 Rep Manager, the session was brimming with experience and enthusiasm. It's inspiring to see such dedication from our rep players and their support team, sacrificing their Sunday afternoon for personal development and gearing up for the exciting season ahead.

Alongside other meticulous planning and preparation from the Selwyn Netball team we are prepared and looking forward to the 2024 season ahead!!
