Selwyn Netball Centre successfully ran another jam-packed Year 7/8 Player Development Programme during the July school holidays. The week was filled with extensive preparation, diverse activities, and skillful progressions to give over 60 youth players an opportunity to develop and grow amongst pairs.

The first session featured NetballSmart’s Kiana Gallon, who facilitated practical's on the importance of the NetballSmart Dynamic Warm-Up (NSDWU), purposeful jumping and landing circuits, and fundamental movement patterns. The ongoing success of NetballSmart is dependent on its integration of Netball from the community grassroots players.

Mainland’s Coach and Umpire lead, Kelly Bodger, was present throughout the entire programme, offering her guidance, expertise and observations to community coaches of Selwyn. Kelly’s involvement enhanced coaches ability to integrate all facets of Netball, such as the three-legged stool, into their practice and coaching Kete. Collaborations has ensured that NetballSmart remains connected, and aligned with current coaching strategies, embedding it into coaching programmes and Netball in New Zealand.
