A Day of Netball Excellence
We are thrilled to announce that our Advanced Camp on September 21st was a resounding success! With 44 enthusiastic player participants, the energy on the court was electrifying as everyone showcased their skills and determination. Thank you to everyone who made this day a success.
Camp Highlights
Fitness Testing: The day kicked off with a challenging yo-yo fitness test, where players demonstrated impressive fitness levels. This initial assessment set a competitive tone for the day, motivating everyone to push their limits.
Game Play Sessions: Participants engaged in multiple game play sessions, each led by experienced coaches and assistant coaches. Our umpires ensured fair play while also benefiting from their own coaching sessions, enhancing their skills for future games.
Education on Fitness Testing: Players received valuable education about the fitness tests that will be utilised at the upcoming Netball New Zealand (NNZ) camps. They learnt about the fundamentals of each test, equipping them with knowledge for their development.
NetballSmart Workshop: After lunch, we hosted a dynamic workshop led by NetballSmart. This was a powerful session focused on becoming a SMART player and promoting SMART health. This practical learning was both engaging and informative.
Guest Speaker: A highlight of the day was having Paris Lokotui from the Trident Homes Tactix as our guest speaker. Her insights and experiences inspired our players and offered a glimpse into the world of professional netball.
Talent Spotting: We were excited to have four talent spotters in attendance who have selected the top 15 players to attend the National Development Camp (NDC) in January. This is a fantastic opportunity for our Mainland players.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, it was a wonderful day filled with learning, skill development, and camaraderie. Thank you to all the coaches, umpires, talent spotters and volunteers who made this event possible, and to all the players for their exceptional effort and enthusiasm.
NDC players will be officially announced by NNZ around the 8th of November.
