The Results Are In!
We’re excited to share the latest insights from our Voice of the Participant survey, last completed in 2022. This year’s survey has given us a lot to celebrate and areas to focus on as we move forward. With a significantly larger sample size for Mainland from 2022 to 2024, we now have a clearer view of participant satisfaction and areas for improvement.
High Satisfaction Levels and What Makes Our Centres Special
A few key things make our centres a great place to be! Being friendly and welcoming is at the heart of it all—helping create a warm, inviting atmosphere where everyone feels like they belong. Providing a safe space for adults and children alike is also essential, ensuring everyone feels secure and comfortable while they’re here. On top of that, we’re committed to promoting good sportsmanship and fair play, encouraging respect and kindness both on and off the court. Together, these values create a positive, well-rounded experience that keeps people coming back and loving what we do.
Areas for Improvement: Officiating and Player Development
The quality of officiating has been highlighted as an area for improvement, and while there’s still work to be done, it’s encouraging to see progress since the last survey. In 2022, 23% of participants identified officiating quality as an area needing improvement, which decreased to 19% in 2024. This positive shift reflects the steps already taken, and we’re committed to maintaining this momentum to further enhance officiating standards, creating a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.
Player development programs have also seen a positive shift. In 2022, 20% of participants pointed to these programs as an area for growth, which reduced to 15% in 2024. This improvement shows our ongoing commitment to supporting players’ skill development, and we plan to continue expanding these efforts to provide even more impactful and accessible development opportunities for players at all levels.
Looking Ahead
These survey results confirm we’re on the right track and show us where to direct our efforts to continue making our centres places where players, families, and supporters feel welcome, valued, and inspired to grow. Thank you for sharing your voices; together, we’re making great strides!
