Walking Netball Thrives in Marlborough - Written by Lou Milne

Walking Netball is taking Marlborough by storm, with players aged 18 and over enjoying this fun, inclusive, and social take on a much-loved sport. Over the past few months, the program has grown rapidly, bringing together people who share a passion for staying active and connected.

This modified version of netball, which emphasises walking instead of running, is perfect for those who want to stay involved in the game while avoiding the high impact demands of the traditional sport.

Walking Netball has quickly become a highlight in Marlborough’s sports calendar. From friendly matches to the friendships formed on and off the court, participants are embracing the spirit of the game. Beyond the physical benefits, players often highlight the social connections and sense of belonging that come with being part of this growing community.

Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to netball, there’s a spot for you on the court. Walking Netball is held on Tuesday mornings at Stadium 2000, with a cost of just $2 per game. If you’re looking for a way to stay active, meet new people, and have a lot of fun, why not give Walking Netball a try? Join the movement and see for yourself why it’s quickly becoming a favourite in Marlborough.

Here’s to keeping Marlborough moving – one pass at a time!
