Coaches from three zones (Mainland, South, and Waikato Bay of Plenty) recently came together for an intensive three-day development program, completing the Composite Coaching Qualification (CCQ) – the first of its kind in the Mainland Zone. This qualification is specifically designed for former elite-level players, leveraging their practical netball experience to enhance their coaching skills.
The event featured a diverse group of guests (former coaches, players and current administrators), providing a comprehensive coaching development opportunity. Also joining the groups as a development opportunity were players identified on the pathway, umpires who have been in off-season training, and umpire coaches focused on developing umpiring skills.
The gathering was not only a chance for professional growth but also an opportunity to forge new connections and rekindle old friendships. We are excited to see this talented group of former players coaching in the ANZ Premiership this season and in local competitions.
Kudos to everyone involved for their awesome mahi, with a very special thanks to NNZ Community Coaching Manger, Leigh Gibbs for her design and collaboration to ensure the success of the event.
