Twilight and summer league netball are all about fun, fast-paced games, warm evenings, and catching up with mates. But before you step onto the court, there’s one crucial rule to remember—ditch the jewellery!
Why No Bling on Court?
We get it—your rings, earrings, and necklaces are part of your style. But in netball, they can be a safety hazard.
Here’s why: Rings - can cause nasty injuries if they get caught while passing or catching the ball. Necklaces Snap – A quick contest for the ball can turn into an unexpected jewellery heist! Earrings = Ouch! – Even small studs can cause cuts or scratches during close contact play.
The best policy? Leave your jewellery at home or store it safely before taking the court.
Centres - Pad Up Those Poles!
If your centre has soft netball pole protectors, make sure they’re up! Running into an unpadded post can be more painful than a mid-court turnover. The padding helps prevent serious injuries and keeps the game safe for everyone.
So, as you hit the courts this twilight season, remember play smart, play safe, and let your skills do the shining!
