The 2025 season is well underway at Selwyn Netball Centre, with teams hitting the courts and a packed calendar of events ahead! Located in the heart of Selwyn, our Centre is home to a thriving netball community, and this year is already shaping up to be an exciting one.
One of our key highlights this season is the introduction of new umpire uniforms, thanks to the generous support of GJ Gardner. These updated uniforms not only give our umpires a fresh, professional look but also make them easily identifiable on court—enhancing the game experience for players, officials, and spectators alike.
We’ve also just wrapped up our social netball competition, which saw 11 teams take part in a fun and relaxed setting. Social netball provides a fantastic opportunity for players of all levels to enjoy the game without the pressures of a competitive league, and we look forward to growing this programme in the future.
Coming up next is our annual Fun Day, a much-anticipated event that has attracted a record 60 team entries! This day is all about bringing the netball community together for a celebration of the sport, with plenty of action on the courts and a great atmosphere for players and supporters alike.
For those looking to take their netball to the next level, our representative trials are just around the corner, providing talented players with the opportunity to compete at a higher level. Additionally, our player development programmes will be running throughout the season, offering structured training sessions designed to enhance skills and confidence.
Another exciting update this year is the revamp of our CERI programme—an initiative dedicated to recognising and celebrating the incredible volunteers who help make netball happen. From coaches and managers to umpires and administrators, volunteers are the backbone of our Centre, and we are committed to ensuring their contributions are valued and acknowledged.
With so many exciting things happening, Selwyn Netball Centre is buzzing with activity, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic season ahead. Whether you’re a player, coach, umpire, or supporter, there’s something for everyone to get involved in.
