The highly anticipated NetballSmart Netball New Zealand Opens Championships are set to take place from September 10th to 13th at the Netball Sports Centre at Ngā Puna Wai in Christchurch. With teams from all corners of the country gearing up for the event, Mainland is ready to make its mark with six teams registered to compete among the twenty total entrants. 

As one of the most significant fixtures on the national netball calendar, the championships will showcase the talent, dedication, and passion of netball athletes and officials alike. Mainland, renowned for its strong netball tradition, is proud to send a sizeable contingent to the event, making up a notable portion of the competing teams. 

In addition to the athletes, the event will also feature selected umpires from Mainland. These officials will be representing the region with precision and integrity, ensuring that the matches run smoothly with fair play at the forefront.  

It’s not just the players and umpires who are preparing for the championship - the bench officials are also gearing up for their vital roles in the competition. These individuals, often working behind the scenes, have been meticulously trained to ensure that each game is conducted efficiently, with accurate timing, scoring, and data management. Their journey to the championships has been just as rigorous and committed as that of the players.  This preparation involves not only technical proficiency but also the ability to stay calm under pressure - an essential skill when dealing with the intensity and fast pace of national-level competition.
