I grew up on a farm in rural Canterbury and first started playing netball at primary school within the Ellesmere District. Although I played a variety of sports throughout secondary school and university, netball was the one I was always drawn to.
I began coaching early in my netball career, initially as a player-coach before transitioning into a dedicated coaching role after starting the Netball New Zealand Coach Framework Process. While working at the National Sports Institute in Goroka, Papua New Guinea, a pivotal opportunity led to my first international coaching experience at the South Pacific Games.
From that time, netball became both a professional career and a lifestyle, living and coaching throughout the world. Returning home feels like I have come full circle, and I am excited to join Mainland Netball as the Coach and Umpire Lead. I look forward to collaborating with and supporting the growth and development of game officials, coaches, coach developers and umpire coaches throughout the region.
