Claire’s netball journey began in the early 1980s, supporting her daughters at Greenpark Netball Club. She quickly became a driving force in the community, serving as Secretary for Prebbleton Netball Club and later helping to establish the Lincoln University Netball Club, where she has continued to serve as Secretary and was honored with Life Membership earlier this year.
Her impact extends far beyond club level. At Selwyn Netball Centre, Claire has held numerous roles since 1987, including Vice President, Secretary, Fundraising Committee member, and Game Official Committee member. She has also contributed regionally as Chair of Canterbury Country Netball and as a representative organiser for Canterbury Netball Union.
Claire’s dedication to officiating is equally impressive. Since 2009, she has served as a National Bench Official, earning her NZ qualification in 2013 and mentoring others to Zone level. She has officiated at major tournaments, including five consecutive NNZ Open Championships from 2021 to 2025.
Claire’s legacy is one of leadership, service, and passion for netball. Her commitment has inspired countless players, officials, and volunteers.
Congratulations Claire, thank you for everything you have given to Netball, what an achievement to celebrate!
