🌟 Mainland NNL Trials: Talent, Competition🌟 written by - Jane Wilson Fourace

 General

What a weekend! The Mainland National Netball League trials delivered a spectacular showcase of athleticism, determination, and pure netball grit. Our zone was buzzing with excitement as some of our most talented players took the court and left everything out there.

A total of 26 eager trialists battled it out for just 12 coveted spots in the 2026 Mainland NNL Squad. With seven players returning from our Championship‑winning team, competition was fierce and every position was hotly contested. The intensity on court was matched only by the energy on the sidelines, this was netball at its finest!

🔴 Management Team Locked In for 2026

We’re thrilled to confirm that our full Mainland NNL management team is returning for the upcoming season! Their leadership, experience, and passion are a massive part of our ongoing success.

  • Geni Ah Tong – Head Coach
  • Anna Kennedy – Assistant Coach
  • Leigh Hurford – Manager
  • Kylie Cox – Physiotherapist

We couldn’t ask for a stronger team guiding our athletes into another big year.

👏 A Huge Thank You to Our Umpiring Crew

Trials of this calibre rely on expertise both on and off the ball. We extend our sincere thanks to the exceptional Mainland umpires and umpire coaches who controlled the games with professionalism and skill. Having such experienced officials on court made a world of difference and was greatly appreciated!

🌿 Special Thanks to Our Selectors

We were privileged to have the support of:

  • Adrianne Hayes, Netball New Zealand & Silver Ferns Selector

Their insights and expertise were invaluable throughout the selection process, and we’re grateful for the time and thought they contributed.
