With more of our work happening online, registrations, finances, emails, funding applications, it’s important we’re all doing the basics to keep our Centres digitally safe.
This short video is a helpful refresher:
👉 Rob's Malware MELTDOWN! - Malware Awareness feat. CYBERTO!
✅ Simple ways to protect your Centre:
- Be cautious with payments and banking changes
Always double-check requests (especially urgent ones) with a phone call
- Use strong passwords (and don’t reuse them)
Where possible, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- Think before clicking
Be wary of unexpected links, attachments, or emails asking for action
- Limit access where possible
Only give system access (e.g. finance, registrations) to those who need it
- Keep devices and software updated
Updates often fix security vulnerabilities
- Have a “check first” culture
Encourage volunteers and committee members to ask if something feels off
Even small steps like these can significantly reduce the risk of scams or data issues across Centres.
Feel free to share this with your committees, especially anyone involved in finance, registrations, or admin 👍
