The sessions were designed to be enjoyable, inclusive, and suitable for all abilities, reflecting the futureFERNS philosophy: “More passes. More play. More shots. More fun.”
The feedback from the tamariki was overwhelmingly positive, with shooting games, passing activities, and, of course, playing netball proving to be the highlights. It was fantastic to see futureFERNS thriving within the Greymouth community and the enthusiasm shown by all participants.
A special thank you goes to Cindy and her Star Helpers from the local high schools for their support in delivering these sessions.
Their assistance not only helped create a positive experience for our tamariki but also provided valuable opportunities for the volunteers to develop their own skills and confidence ahead of future programmes.
The West Coast Netball Centre will kick off its Year 1-3 Skill Development Programme in Term 3, and we hope to see many of our holiday programme attendees return as participants.
