AGM Umpire Breakout session

As part of our AGM held on 29 March at Lake Karapiro, we were pleased to host a valuable Umpires Breakout Session for umpires and umpire co-ordinators.

This session provided a great opportunity for attendees to come together, reflect, and share both the challenges and successes they experienced throughout the 2025 season. It was encouraging to hear the variety of experiences from across our umpiring community and to learn from one another in a supportive environment.

We also spent time looking ahead and discussing what a successful 2026 season could look like. These conversations helped generate ideas around growth, support, development, and how we can continue to strengthen umpiring within our centres and schools.

A special thank you to Sam Winders, who led a short but insightful session on the importance of embedding effective warm-up routines in our emerging umpires. This was a practical and valuable reminder of the role preparation plays in both performance and injury prevention.

Overall, the breakout session was a fantastic experience and a great chance to build connections, share ideas, and support one another as we continue to grow and develop our umpiring community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a positive session.
