If you've spotted the little red WBOP car travelling around the Zone lately, chances are Ruth and Minda have been out visiting our Netball Centres!
Last month, Ruth headed to Waihi, where she met an incredibly passionate umpiring community doing fantastic work at the grassroots level. It was inspiring to see the commitment to developing the next generation of umpires and the enthusiasm of those investing their time to help officials grow.
The following week, Ruth and Minda travelled to Te Aroha, where they met the wonderful team who keep the Monday night competition running. It was another great opportunity to connect with volunteers, watch emerging umpiring talent in action, and gain a better understanding of the unique strengths and challenges within each Centre.
One thing has stood out on every visit – the dedication of our volunteers. Their commitment to developing umpires and ensuring competitions run week after week is the backbone of our game.
Thank you to everyone who gives their time and energy to support umpiring across the WBOP Zone.
We're looking forward to continuing our Centre visits throughout the season, building relationships, sharing ideas, and supporting our umpiring community. So, where will the little red WBOP car be heading next?
