Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty (WBOP) Zone continues to support Centres with facility planning and development projects across the region. While facility developments are driven by Centres and their local partners, the Zone can act as an advocate, ally, and connector, helping Centres engage with the organisations, experts, and decision-makers who can assist.

Recent examples include supporting Te Puke Netball Centre with a submission to Western Bay of Plenty District Council, attending council and Sport Waikato meetings alongside Ōtorohanga and Maniapoto Netball Centres, and providing a letter of support for Morrinsville Netball Centre's lighting project. We are also available to provide a sounding board for Centres as projects develop and may be able to contribute funding towards feasibility studies where appropriate.

The draft Netball New Zealand National Facilities Strategy is currently being circulated to a small number of Centres nationwide for feedback. Once the national strategy is finalised, WBOP Zone will work alongside Centres and Regional Sports Trusts to develop an implementation support plan, helping bring the national recommendations and priority projects to life across our region.
