NetballSmart Walking Netball Warm-Up Debuts at Mercury Bay

NetballSmart Walking Netball Warm-Up Debuts at Mercury Bay

Mercury Bay Netball Centre's Walking Netball pilot recently became the first in the Zone to roll out the NetballSmart Walking Netball Warm-Up – which can be found on the NetballSmart website and Facebook page!

The new warm-up was introduced during one of the programme's regular sessions, with participants enjoying the opportunity to try the activities, as a whole group, before taking to the court. With lots of fundamental movements and some light strengthening activities, the warm-up has been found to contribute to an improvement across the board in strength and movement development.

NetballSmart Development Officer Sam Winders also joined in some of the game play and quickly discovered how much fun walking netball can be. With players of varying ages, fitness levels, and netball backgrounds sharing the court, the modified format helped level the playing field, allowing everyone to contribute, compete, and enjoy the game together.

A big thank you to Mercury Bay Netball Centre and all participants for embracing the pilot and helping bring the NetballSmart Walking Netball Warm-Up to life in the Zone.
