MAGIC IN THE MAKING 2026 Update

We’re excited to share the dates and venues for our upcoming Magic in the Making Development Sessions! 

The purpose of the MIM programme is to identify Secondary school players for WBOP Zone and NNZ pathways and to develop and grow the depth and breadth of player capability in our Zone.

Player announcements – up to 70 players will be named on 4 September 2026 on Netball Waikato BOP’s Facebook page link here and invited to attend one of the following sessions:

• 19 September – Netball Whakatane Centre
• 20 September – Morrinsville Netball Centre

From these sessions, a group of players will be selected to attend the Advanced Magic in the Making on 18 October in Matamata.

Invited players will have only a week to register – so keep an eye on the Facebook page, share the news, and make sure you don’t miss the announcement!

Development sessions are by invitation only.

PATHWAYS SPOTTING

Rachel has enjoyed attending Tournaments and Secondary School Competitions around the Zone watching many of our Secondary School Athletes.  UNISS is the next big event she will be at and looking forward to our 48 Zone teams attending.

MATARAU PRIZEGIVING

The NNL Matarau team enjoyed a lovely night out at Sky City for the annual Magic Prizegiving. The team looked lovely dressed up and were able to celebrate with Grace Namana as she was named Player of the Year for Matarau 2026.
