New Brighton Netball Club - Players Code of Conduct

As a player of New Brighton Netball Club I agree to abide by the New Brighton Netball Club code of conduct below. I understand that if I should breach this code of conduct that I may be side-lined for games as the coach or committee see fit.

I agree to the New Brighton Netball Clubs expectations:

● Play competitive netball to win but not at all costs.

● To value my fellow team members for their strengths and supported for their weaknesses.

● Represent New Brighton Netball Club in a positive manner.

● Cooperate with coaches and teammates.

● I understand that it is not appropriate to verbally abuse referees, coaches, or other players or to make any person feel they are being bullied.

● We are a Smoke free/Auahi Kore Club that means no smoking whilst representing the club. We ask all players, parents and supporters to respect his policy by not smoking inside Rawhiti Canopy, at games or when wearing the clubs uniform.

For Practices I am expected to:

● Attend practices and be on time, advise coach if I am unable to attend practice.

I agree to NNZ Players Code of Conduct & Ethics:

As a player in any netball or netball related activity held by or under the auspices of NNZ, a Zone or a Netball Centre you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event

● Play equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team’s performance will benefit, so will you.

● Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player.

● Control your temper, any verbal abuse or deliberate contact. Abusive behaviour is unacceptable.

● Play according to the rules of netball and the principles of fair play.

● Never argue with an umpire. If you are concerned, talk to your coach or captain.

● Be a good sport, cheer all good play from both your team and the opposition.

● Appreciate and co-operate with your coach, teammates and officials. There would be no game without them.

● Take responsibility for your performance on and off the court.

I understand that if I have any queries or problems I can firstly raise them with my coach, if I feel that I cannot raise these with my coach I can contact the Junior liaison person or any member of the New Brighton Netball Club committee.
