New Era Sports Club Inc.

New Era Sports Club originally, St Marys Netball Club, was established in the 1950’s by the Papakura St Marys School nuns.  St Marys Netball played at the original Papakura netball grounds at Smiths Ave and moved with the Papakura Netball Association to Bruce Pullman Park.

St Marys netball has been a successful club within the Papakura netball Association winning multiple awards in the annual parades, and competitively in the junior netball competition

St Marys has predominantly been a Juniors only club competing in the Papakura Netball Association competition until 2018. 

In 2018 a New Era of netballers emerged, taking us from a Junior only club to both Juniors and Seniors allowing all families to play and represent the same club on and off the court.  We are a club that treasures our history and will ensure it will live on under our new name.  All club trophies donated to St Marys will remain with the club, and be awarded each year.  All other memorabilia has been stored securely to be shared with all past, present and future members.

Our logo of a Phoenix represents ‘new beginnings’ for us as a club. The colours incorporate our history and our new journey, keeping our original black and white and adding lime green. 

Netball is strong and we believe under New Era Sports Club with the strong history of St Marys Netball, we will sustain that strength as a community.

New Era Sports Club has spent a significant time on ensuring that its governance, structure and processes are prepared for this new journey.
