Rawinia Pera Everitt Announced as FPC Head Coach for 2023

Northland Rugby is pleased to announce that Rawinia Pera Everitt will lead our Kauri as Head Coach this year. As the founder of Native Sports Performance, having setup the first wāhine rugby team in the Hokianga and having held multiple coaching positions for teams across New Zealand and internationally, Rawinia is well suited to support our Kauri with skills development and progression.

Rawinia has held coaching stints at Counties Manukau Rugby, Arongatahi Women’s Rugby in Las Vegas, Valley Rugby Club Hong Kong, Manurewa Rugby Club, Manurewa High School, Te Rarawa Wāhine Rugby and Hokianga Wāhine Rugby. She also kick-started the New Zealand Women’s Kabaddi, taking the team to the finals at the 2013 Kabaddi World Cup. Rawinia also founded Native Sports Performance - an initiative dedicated to providing new opportunities for Far North communities to connect through sport.

In addition to her professional and coaching achievements, Rawinia is an esteemed rugby player having represented the Black Ferns from 2013-2017. In addition to rugby, Rawinia has also played stints in netball, rugby league and tag rugby.

“We are excited to be welcoming someone of Rawinia’s experience and calibre to our team here at Northland Rugby. With experience as a player, coach, and sports programme manager, we have no doubt that Rawinia has what it takes to help our Kauri take their skills to the next level. Rawinia’s vision and aptitude for strategic thinking and performance will provide exceptional opportunities for our Kauri wāhine to excel on and off the field” says Northland Rugby CEO, Cameron Bell.

Rawinia joins the Northland Rugby team in April and will lead the Semco Kauri FPC team for the 2023 season.
