North Wellington’s own Brooklyn Browne has been recognised with one of the night’s standout honours at the 2025 PKF Kendons Capital Football Awards, taking home Save of the Year for his remarkable stop against Upper Hutt in the Men’s Central League clash on August 30, 2025.
Held on Friday, 31 October at Black and Gold in Wellington, the awards celebrated the best of the region’s football talent, and Brooklyn’s winning moment was one that had already become a fan favourite long before the ceremony.
His instinctive, reflex save drew gasps at Alex Moore Park on the day and has since been replayed countless times online. Up against fellow finalists Luca Siegel (Petone) and Scott Basalaj (Wellington Olympic), the public vote ultimately went North, recognising a moment that perfectly captured the heart and resilience that define our club.
This award is a testament not only to Brooklyn’s talent and bravery between the posts but also to the collective spirit of the team and the support of our community. We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, your backing helped bring this one home.
Congratulations, Brooklyn a richly deserved honour and a save that will be remembered for years to come.
