Dragon Boat NZ is excited to launch our first Solo Challenge!

This is a distance challenge – aimed at active recreation, and gaining the most points to take out the Leaderboard!

How it works:
Starting Friday 01 April 2022, paddle as far as you can and submit your total weekly distance. Competition ends Saturday 09 July 2022 – thus completing the 100-day Solo Challenge!
You may join the challenge at any stage.

Entry Fee: No cost - open to New Zealand paddlers only (must be affiliated to NZDBA via their dragon boat RSO)

Submitting results: Use a tracking app/device/wearable like Strava, Garmin or Apple watch, PaddleLogger, Speed Coach, or any other water tracking device and record your distance.

Submit your results on the form to your right, each week by midnight Thursday to be included in the Leaderboard (the final week, week 14, will have 9 days to submit for the leaderboard)
Any submissions received after the cut off dates, will not be accepted.

What type of paddle craft is allowed:
Dragon Boat, Outrigger, SUP, Canoe, Kayak or Dragon Boat Ergometer, Rowing Machine, Surf Ski

Points System:

1 point for every kilometre ‘paddled’. eg 15km = 15 points

Aim to reach these milestones within the competition:

  • 100km
  • 250km
  • 500km
  • 1000km

Do you think you could ‘paddle’ the distance of Cape Reinga to Bluff (1,475km) – how many days will it take you?

Spot prizes will be announced throughout the 100-day Challenge.

Note: Heading out with your team mates in a dragon boat? Great! You’ll all need to track your own distance individually. If it’s not on your own tracking app, it won’t be eligible.

Encourage your mates:
Get active on social media by using the hashtag #100daySoloChallenge and your best photo of you ‘paddling’
