The development of coaches around the country is set to go from strength to strength after the appointment of Owain Prosser as Coach Development Manager for New Zealand Football.

A long-time employee of New Zealand Football, Prosser takes on the role after acting as Junior Football Development Manager for six years and is also an assistant coach to Tom Sermanni for the Football Ferns.

Prior to joining New Zealand Football, he previously held coach development roles with The Football Association in England and the English Premier League.

He has coached at club level in the domestic game and also has further experience on the global stage as an assistant coach with both the New Zealand U-17 and U-20 women’s teams.

Prosser is looking forward to building on the strong progress that has been made in coach development in recent years, which has placed New Zealand Football as a leader in this area in the national sporting landscape.

“New Zealand Football has made positive strides in coach development and I'm excited and privileged to be able to continue this,” Prosser says.

“We will aim to provide coaches with the best learning environments and experiences, from community football to the highest levels of our game.”

New Zealand Football Interim Technical Director Andy Boyens feels Prosser is ideally placed to drive coach development forward.

“We’re really excited to have Owain in the role,” he says.

“He’s been heavily involved in coach development, both prior to and during his time at New Zealand Football, and we believe he’s the right person to continue to build on the growth we've had in this area.”
