Wednesday 3 August Easy Walk Highbrook Parks & Paths
This walk in the Highbrook industrial zone takes in parks and footpaths. Approx 2.5 hours - something a little different. PLEASE RING ORGANISER PRIOR TO COMING ON THIS WALK.

Sunday 7 August Moderate Walk Avondale –New Lynn
Exciting New shared path. Approx. 2 hours ending in New Lynn. From Avondale Station we will head for New Lynn on the newly opened walkway, then, via a network of walkways, finish in New Lynn for coffee, lunch, or home. We will have a short break along the way. Some road walking but mostly downhill, or flat, on paved surfaces. Bring mask and AT card for return trip. A Western train leaves Britomart at 9.24am, Newmarket at 9.35am, and Henderson at 9.29am, or parking near Avondale Station.

About 3 hrs + lunch. We will explore 3 of the main tracks, which could include a stream crossing (low tide at noon) so bring a towel.

Sunday 21 August Physical & Mental Workout Onehunga
This is a combined event, with Thumbs Up Adventures (Mike Maran). Mike is arranging a foot rally around Onehunga. Then we will meet back at the Blockhouse, answers will be checked and you can have your lunch. At 1.30 Phil will run a Fun Group Quiz for both clubs. Thursday 25 August Tramp Dome Walkway
We will do the Dome Forest Lookout Track to Waiwhiu Grove (large Kauris) via the Summit (336m asl) and possibly beyond if time permits. Not a loop so will retrace back to carpark. About 3 hrs + lunch + travel.

Sunday 4 September Moderate Walk Waikumete Cemetery
This is a walk through Waikumete Cemetery the largest cemetery in New Zealand and the second largest cemetery in the Southern hemisphere. The cemetery is a beautiful place with many heritage and historic features. It has a distinctive landscape with well formed roads and facilities. There will be a small bush walk with some hill walking included. 2 hours approx.

We are fortunate to have as our Guest Speaker this year, John Walsh. John gives a fascinating and worthwhile talk on his experiences over 40 years as a Ranger in the Waitakere Ranges. You won’t believe some of his stories - definitely not to be missed.
