Our Otago boys managed to secure the win over the weekend in their first Bunnings Warehouse NPC match for the season against our frenemies from down the road, the Southland Stags.

Final score 26-19 to Otago.

It was a tightly contested match that had both Otago and Southland fans on the edge of their seats. 

Our debutants, Abraham Pole, Tau Koloamatangi, Viliami Fine, Sam Gilbert and Christian Lio-Willie all managed to get on the field and proved themselves worthy of the Otago jersey.

We unfortantely saw a few injuries early on from some of our key players. However this allowed our debutants and other bench players the chance to step up to the challenge, which they did. 

Credit to Southland for putting up a decent fight. We are very proud of our team for taking back the Donald Stuart Memorial Shield.
