Otago Rugby is pleased to announce its squad for the first Ranfurly Shield Challenge matches, against North Otago, to be played on Tuesday 16 June, 6:30pm at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

The match will carry added significance, with the Ranfurly Shield on the line as Otago faces a strong challenge from the 2025 Lochore Cup champions. The fixture also provides an important opportunity for wider squad members, including standout performers from club rugby, to test themselves at the next level in the blue and gold jersey.

The team will be captained by Green Island’s Jake Te Hiwi.

This clash will serve as a valuable lead-in to the 2026 NPC campaign, with Otago set to open their season against Southland in Invercargill on Sunday 2 August.

Tickets for the match are on sale now via ORFU Ticketing. Adult tickets are $20, with free entry for children (conditions apply).
