Students for Environmental Action (SEA)

ABOUT US 🌏 🌱

Students for Environmental Action (SEA) is the primary environmental activist group on the Otago University Campus.

SEA aims to help create a healthier environment and inspire people to care for Papatūānuku. We look for ways to live more sustainably, push for stronger environmental action, connect with the wider environmental community, and share ideas.

Some of our regular events include clothes swaps, documentary nights, clean ups, potlucks, submissions parties and workshops.

We collaborate with other environmental groups on and off campus, including AAPES, GEMS, OUDC, Slow Food Youth, 350.org, the Sustainability Office, Quarantine Island/Kamau Taurua Community, Give to Grow, and Resilient Dunedin.

We also run Te Mahinga Kai - the Student Garden - a thriving vegetable garden located at the corner of Forth and Dundas Streets. It is open to anyone, anytime, or you can join us on Sundays at 1pm to meet others, help us with some maintenance, learn, and share in the harvest. The garden also has a compost and worm farm, and we welcome people to come drop off their food scraps.

We're always eager to hear new ideas or answer any questions, so don't hesitate to reach out!
