Check our our race day information for times relating to the current event. the public gates normally open two hours before racing starts. However, some events are so popular that we get long queues forming. When this happens, we open the gates earlier - sometimes a lot earlier, just to get everyone through in time for racing.
We post race day updates on our Facebook page, so check regularly on the day.
We only race when it's safe to do so. Central Otago is famous for it's glorious weather and long sunshine hours - but we do get rain sometimes!
Officials will try to wait for any rain to stop so racing can continue. Sometimes however, they have to make a decision for safety reasons and a race or event may be called off.
The definition of a Race Meeting is three (3) completed races.
A Rainout only applies if an Event is called off due to adverse weather AFTER you have paid your entry into the facility and BEFORE three (3) races are completed.
If a Rainout is called at any event, Rainout passes will only be issued to those who present a valid entry ticket to gate staff. Rainout passes are valid for the next event on the calendar with an equivalent or lesser entry value. NO REFUNDS will be given.
