I started at Pātoka School in 2017, and you will find me in the Junior Classroom teaching New Entrant to Year 2. I have taught in Hawke's Bay for a number of years and have worked with students from New Entrant to Intermediate, across a range of deciles. Along with being a classroom teacher, I am the Assistant-Principal and SENCO and you will sometimes find me at the Pātoka Kindy, organising school visits. Mrs Madelene Field

My name is Lucy Thompson and I teach year 3 and 4s in Room 2 at Pātoka School. I started teaching in 2019 and I am loving every minute. I studied my Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) at the Eastern Institute of Technology in Hawkes Bay before starting at Pātoka.  I have a passion for and am trained in many different styles of dance, and I also enjoy hunting, cooking and spending time on the farm. I have always enjoyed the community feel and atmosphere of country schools, and working, as well as living, in the Pātoka community with my partner Harry is great.  I really enjoy working with children, and supporting them to reach their full potential through engaging and varying learning, and am extremely lucky to be a part of such a supportive and welcoming school to begin my teaching career. My name is Mike Tolley and I have been teaching since 2008. My partner and I only moved to Hawke’s Bay in December 2020, so most of my teaching experience has been in Wellington. There are many areas of education that interest me, but I am particularly interested in Digital Technology, Maths, Inquiry Learning, and Gifted Education. Before training to be a teacher, I worked in the IT industry and for Immigration New Zealand. In my spare time I enjoy fishing,
camping, and pottering in the garden. I also like to keep fit running and walking. Mr Mike Tolley

My name is Alice Nelson and I am the Office Administrator at Pātoka School.  I have been here since September 2018. So not that long but I have really enjoyed getting to know the fantastic country children here at Pātoka. The children call me Mrs Alice. I live in Puketitiri with my Husband Tim and children Annabel and Harry. Annabel is at Patoka School and Harry goes to Pātoka Rural Kindergarten.  We live on our own Sheep and Beef farm and when I'm not at work I help out on the farm. I also love to cook and when time allows riding my horse. When time allows ride my horse, spend time with my family here and in Christchurch. Mrs Alice
