Established in 2000, our mission is to provide basketball training and playing opportunities for all in the Christchurch South District. We are participation and family focused club with 5 paid staff and hundreds of amazing volunteers.
Our programmes and competitions go throughout the entire year and cater for junior and seniors who are complete beginners to experience players:
Terms 1 & 4: Hoops Academy (yr 1-9), Miniball (yr 4 & below), Pacers League (yr 5-8), CRDP/Open Court (males 13-18yrs), Swish Women's League, South Island Primary Tournament (North Canterbury tournament)
Terms 2 & 3: Hoops Academy (yr 1-9), Primary/Intermediate Winter Competition (yr 5-8), Senior Club (U13s - Premier)
School Holidays: Delivery of 1 or 2 Girls only clinics and two 2-day mixed gender clinics (5-13yrs)
Location: The Pioneer Basketball Club programmes are based at Pioneer Sport & Recreation Centre in Christchurch South.
CLUB OBJECTIVES:
To foster, teach and encourage the sport of basketball by providing opportunities for all players, coaches and referees in the local area.
To promote health and wellbeing of participants by providing opportunities to achieve physical fitness through the sport of basketball. To facilitate access to basketball facilities and equipment for use by those wishing to participate in basketball
To offer performance pathways and connections for players, referees and coaches wishing to develop and compete at all levels of competition.
