Good Morning All

Just a quick update on the results of the first round of the Spring Hong Kong Pair Tournamanet and other activities at the Club. 

Spring Hong Kong Pairs.

Last Sunday we were challenged with the weather. Between rain and the winds, it made it a challenging day, although we still got through 2 games each. Barry & Jeff read the weather conditons the best and came out with two close wins. Here's hoping for better weather this Sunday and a few more players. (you can either select your own team members, or be matched up with another player on the day).

Registration 10:45am - First game commences at 11:00am. Games will be played over 8 ends. (based on Points / Ends / differential - 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw.) Minimum of 2 games will be played, (potentailly a 3rd game, subject to weather etc..)

Note: $5:00 entry fee for club members ($10:00 for vistors), this includes a light lunch which is provided.

Also please note that this Sunday it is your club managers birthday (Barbara) and she is working again, running your club. It would be good to see some club members pop in and wish her happy birthday and show their appreciation for the magnicient job see is doing looking after your club.

Interclub Competition

We are keen to enter the InterClub competition this year, hence looking for bowlers to join our InterClub team. It would be great to see a Ponsonby Bowling Club team out there winning again. If you are keen on being part of the interclub team, please contact Bernie Connolly (admin@PonsonbyBowls.nz). Interclub commences the last Saturday in October and runs every Saturday for 6 weeks.

Coaching

We are keen to run some coaching sessions. At this stage we are planning on running a few "Coach the Coach" session in earlier October, most likely early evening. If you are ontersted in becoming a coach, then conatct Bernie Connolly (admin@PonsonbyBowls.nz) so we can coordinate the timing of these sessions.

Subscriptions are now due

2018/19 subscriptions are now due. Many thanks to the members that have already paid. If you do not wish to renew your membership, we would appreciate an email (admin@ponsonbybowls.nz) confirming that you wish to terminate / not renew your membership.

Mates In Bowls (Nov/Dev 2018 Series)

Registrations for Mates in Bowls (Nov/Dec 2018 Series) are now starting to flow in. The competition commences 7th November and runs 6 weeks (Wednesday Night's). There is stil room for some teams, so grab a couple of friends (3 players to a team) and register your team.

We are also looking for volunteers to help on the night. If you can help assist with running the tournament on Wednesday nights, then please contact Bernie Connolly (admin@ponsonbybowls.nz).

Winter Hours

Just a reminder the Club will be open Thursday thru - Sunday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. As usual we will stay open past 6:00pm if there are any club members are in the club rooms. Barbara would love your company, so please pop in have and have a chat, bowl, game of pool etc... 

Members Draw

Last week Members Draw was not won, so it jackpots to next week. Robyn was the lucky winner of the 2nd chance draw. Just a reminder the Members Draw happens every Friday Night @ 5:30pm. It would be great to see more members in the club on Friday nights.

Fish & Chips Fridays.

Don't forget our special of fish & chips special on Friday evenings. Fish & Chips plus either a beer or a wine for $15.00 ($12.00 for club members). Pop in, have some fish and chips, and you might even win the members draw.
