Good Morning All

Just a quick update on the results of the first round of the Spring Hong Kong Pair Tournament and other upcomig activities at the Club. 

Spring Hong Kong Pairs.

Last Sunday was the final day of the Spring Hong Kong pairs. A great day was held by all. Barry & Jeff took out the tournament, with Barb & Graeme coming second, well done.

Opening Day.

Opening day is this coming Sunday 7th October @ 1:00pm. Hope to see you all there to celebrate the opening of the 2018/19 summer session. Subject to numbers we will try and have a quick combination. (most likely handicap triples or pairs)

Passing of Glenn Connolly

With deep sadness, Glenn Connolly passed away on Monday 1st October. Our thoughts are with Shirley (our Club President) and her family. A requiem mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Glenn on Monday 8th October @ 11:00am

Club Shirts for Sale

We have just taking the first delivery of our new Club Shirts (either Navy / Blue shirt or White / Navy shirt). These are on dipslay at the clubrooms. and can be purchased from the bar.

Coaching

With Daylight saving now here, we will be arranging some coach sessions to be held during the week. This will start with a few "Coach the Coach" sessions this Tuesday 9th October @ 5:00pm and then continue with general coaching seesions. If you are intersted in becoming a coach / helping with these coaching session, then please contact Bernie Connolly (admin@PonsonbyBowls.nz) so we can coordinate the timing of these sessions.

Subscriptions are now due

2018/19 subscriptions are now due. Many thanks to the members that have already paid. If you do not wish to renew your membership, we would appreciate an email (admin@ponsonbybowls.nz) confirming that you wish to terminate / not renew your membership.

Mates In Bowls (Nov/Dev 2018 Series)

Registrations for Mates in Bowls (Nov/Dec 2018 Series) are now starting to flow in. The competition commences Wednesday 7th November and runs for 6 weeks (Wednesday Night's). There is still room for some teams, so grab a couple of friends (3 players to a team) and register your team.

We are also looking for volunteers to help on the night. If you can help assist with running the tournament on Wednesday nights, then please contact Bernie Connolly (admin@ponsonbybowls.nz).

Winter Hours

Just a reminder the Club will be open Thursday thru - Sunday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. As usual we will stay open past 6:00pm if there are any club members are in the club rooms. Barbara would love your company, so please pop in have and have a chat, bowl, game of pool etc... 

Members Draw

Last week Members Draw was not won, so it jackpots to next week. Barbara was the lucky winner of the 2nd chance draw. Just a reminder the Members Draw happens every Friday Night @ 5:30pm. It would be great to see more members in the club on Friday nights.

Fish & Chips Fridays.

Don't forget our special of fish & chips special on Friday evenings. Fish & Chips plus either a beer or a wine for $15.00 ($12.00 for club members). Pop in, have some fish and chips, and you might even win the members draw.
