UNITEC-PRC Scholarship

Unitec is New Zealand’s largest institute of technology, with more than 20,000 students studying over 150 work-oriented programmes. They offer leading employment-focused education at two campuses in Mt. Albert and Waitākere.

In 2017, Unitec entered into an agreement with Ponsonby Rugby Club (PRC) to provide fully fee paid scholarships for members and players.

Each year there is one scholarship on offer for an existing or future PRC member however the number of scholarships may vary each year. The Unitec scholarships aim “is to recognise leadership potential and reward the achievement of those completing a qualification”. Degrees are offered in many professional areas as well as significant TRADE TRAINING.

Annual fees are covered for up to 3 years and the criteria is generally wider and recipients are expected to contribute towards community participation. Full details of the award, eligibility, nomination and conditions can be found on the application. Each year applications close on the 31st October. 

A number of PRC players including Patrick Tuipolutu have received scholarships from Unitec.
