2019 Gold Coast Netball Carnival:
Under 12 - In 2017, our Revelation U12 team went through unbeaten. This year, our U12 team won all their grading games on days 1 and 2. They were then taken out of the under 12 grade and put up into the under 14 Shield division. Playing against the older, taller girls proved to be challenging for our young team and we only just qualified for the top 4. After winning our semi-final against a NSW school, we ended up losing the final 19-20 to a Western Australian club team. So runners-up in the Under 14 Shield Division - great effort by our under 12 girls!
Under 14 - Revelation had won this grade on our past 2 visits to the Gold Coast Carnival in 2015 and 2017. This years team were once again a strong team. During the 1st 2 days of grading, we were unbeaten until our final match which we lost by 4 goals. We qualified for the Under 14 Championship grade where we once again had just the 1 loss to the same team, this time by 8 goals. After winning our semi final, we played the same team in the final - this time we lost by just 2 goals! So our 2019 under 14 team finished runners-up in the Under 14 Championship Division - good stuff team!
Under 16 - Our last time competing in this grade was 2013 when Amma's U16 Revs team won the Under 16 Championship division. This year's team was also a strong team. We had 3 girls join us from the Gold Coast who certainly strenghtened the side. After remaining unbeaten over both days 1 and 2, our team qualified for the top division. We once again went through the round robin games unbeaten; we won our semi-final and then backed it up by winning the final yay! so our U16 Revs team won the Under 16 Championship grade.
2019 Kurangaituku Netball Tournament - Rotorua:
Intermediate - Our Rotorua netball team comprised mainly Panthers girls. In fact it was the first time in 3-4 years that we had over half of our Revs Panthers team available to travel. The team was topped up with a couple of Dragons and Sharks girls. Our team went through the 2 days unbeaten and won the top intermediate grade which was an amazing achievement.
Year 9/10 - After winning BOTH the Year 9 and Year 10 grades in 2018, this year we combined to make one composite team. With girls from 3 Revs College teams, we struggled a bit with building combinations. We finished 2nd in our section after winning 8 games and losing just 1 game. Unfortunately only the top team progressed to the main grade final so our team finished section runners-up. Hard luck girls.
College Open - This was the first time in a few years that Revelation have entered the top College grade in Rotorua. Our girls did awesome as there were certainly some tough opponents. We were unbeaten with 2 other teams right through until the final 3 rounds when we had to play each other. Our Revs girls managed to knock out last year's defending champions which was awesome. However we then played probably our worst game to lose to the other unbeaten team. This particular team lost their final match which left us 1st= at the end of the competition. Unfortunately we lost to them on goal difference by 2 goals grrrr.. so we finished runners-up in the top open college grade. Well done girls.
