Football at Rongotai College

Rongotai College has a rich football legacy. Multiple All Whites, including Wynton Rufer and Jesse Randall, are alumni. Rongotai has also been crowned National Champions numerous times.  

Football is Rongotai's most popular sport, with teams available for all ages, abilities, and commitment. Generally, teams are formed based on players' ability. However, Rongotai can facilitate 'social' teams for students looking to play with a select group of individuals. 

Weekly Competition

All Rongotai Football teams are entered into local CSW weekly competitions. 

Premier Grades (1st XI): Saturdays, starting from May 2. 

All Other Grades: Saturdays, starting from May 9. 

Matches are played on the grounds of the various schools entered into the competition.

Events & Tournaments

The 1st XI participates in New Zealand's annual Winter Tournament Week. They also participate in one-off 'traditional' fixtures against Rongotai's historical rival schools.

Winter Tournament Week: Monday, August 31 - Friday, September 4

Cost 

Participation in Football incurs a 'playing fee' cost of $110 to cover expenses. Students selected for the 1st XI will be charged $150. Students who participate in additional fixtures and tournaments will be charged additionally.
