Rotorua Hockey welcomes anyone who is keen to either give umpiring a go and learn the basics, right through to increasing their skills and experience and following an umpire pathway to higher competitions.

There are many grades and competitions to umpire, catering for all abilities, so for any new and nervous umpires...we can start you in the junior competition while you learn as you go.

As you progress on the umpire pathway there are higher calibre games you can have the opportunity to umpire

PAYMENT

Umpires can be paid a small fee for their services (be aware umpires are deemed a contractor and responsible for paying any tax on their income).
Payments are made by direct credit at the start of each month, for the previous months games.

2022 SEASON

We require umpires across all grades for the 2022 season. Please register your interest by filling in and submitting the form to the right.

Umpires will receive training in both practical and theory, a whistle to keep if required and a glo vest or jacket to loan if required.

UMPIRE PAYMENTS

Umpire receive payment for games as below

Junior Mini Yr 3-4 No payment

Junior Maxi Yrs 5 - 6 $7.50 per game

Intermediate Yrs 7 - 8 $10.00 per game (6 aside)

Intermediate Yrs 7 - 8 $15.00 per game (11 aside)

Secondary & Senior Games $20.00 per game
