Rotorua Hockey welcomes anyone who is keen to either give umpiring a go and learn the basics, right through to increasing their skills and experience and following an umpire pathway to higher competitions.
There are many grades and competitions to umpire, catering for all abilities, so for any new and nervous umpires...we can start you in the junior competition while you learn as you go.

- As you progress on the umpire pathway there are higher calibre games you can have the opportunity to umpire
PAYMENT
- Umpires can be paid a small fee for their services (be aware umpires are deemed a contractor and responsible for paying any tax on their income).
- Payments are made by direct credit at the start of each month, for the previous months games.
