Term 1 2022 Information

Welcome to TERM 1 2022 of our Junior Touch Modules.

The Intermediate and Secondary School Module at Swarbrick Park, will still be played on Monday.  First games commencing on 21 February 2022 with the last game being played on 28 March 2022.

INTERMEDIATE AND SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPETITION 

This competition is now a VACCINE PASS required event. Depending on COVID Protection settings at the time is how we will run our tournament.

IN ALL SETTINGS THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS NEED TO BE ADHERED TO

  • If you are unwell or requried to self-isolate please do not attend
  • All participants (over the age of 12 years and 3 months old) will need to provide a VACCINE PASS to participate. This includes coaches and managers who are with the team.
  • Vaccine passes for all teams will need to be verified during the registration process
  • Everyone to sanitise and scan in via the QR Code upon entry

RED - All games will be played in gatherings of 100 or less.

  • There will be NO SPECTATORS allowed.

ORANGE - No limits on gathering numbers

  • Spectators will be allowed however they will need to show their vaccine pass at the entry points

GREEN - No limits on gathering numbers

  • Spectators will be allowed however they will need to show their vaccine pass at the entry points

Playing Venue:         Swarbrick Park, Rifle Range Road, Frankton

Playing Dates:               February 21, 28 & March 7, 14, 21, 28.  (6 Weeks)

Playing Rounds:              4.30, 5.10, 5.50, 6.30, 7.10.  The number of rounds will vary at each competition depending on                                             number of fields/entries. 

Game duration: Games will be 15 minutes each way with a 2 minute half time.  There will be 8 minutes in between rounds.  

Grades available: Year 7/8 Boys, Girls, Mixed, Junior Boys, Girls, Mixed & Senior Boys, Girls, Mixed.  

All grades are subject to mimimum entries.  If there are not enough team entries for a Boys only Grade they will be offered the opportunity to join one of our other grades. (This will be discussed on a team by team situation)

Please ensure you select the correct grade (Self grading) form from the drop down list on the registration form as below:

  • A=Experienced & Skilled
  • B=Experienced 
  • C=Advanced Beginner
  • D=Beginner

Entries will be prioritised in the order the entries come in so first in first served and all teams need to be registered before the cut off date of Friday 16th February 2022 . Any entries after this point will only be accepted on a case by case basis.

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS

All players for all grades are required to be registered, please ensure this is completed by Friday 25th February 2022 to ensure your team is not penalised for not completing the player registration details.

Touch boots or sneakers are compulsory for all players.  No shoes, no play!  No long skins allowed.  Each team will be required to ref half a game so please be prepared for this, we are looking into having a small amount of refs available for teams who cannot provide one but this will be at an extra cost to the team.

Please be on time with enough players for your game.  If you are unable to play, it is your teams responsability to make contact with the opposition adn include us in your communications.

As a rule, there will be NO Cancellations of modules due to bad weather, games will be played in the rain, unless the Hamilton City Council close the fields.

Previously mixed grades required a minimum of 3 girls, we will now allow a minimum of 2 on the field to allow more  mixed teams to be involved.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations of modules due to bad weather will be put on the website by 2pm at the latest. However, we are very unlikely to cancel any modules unless Hamilton City Council close the grounds, so all games will go ahead, Rain or Shine. Please encourage your players to download the sporty app and add Waikato Touch for notification of cancellations.

We endeavour to have full draw out by Wednesday 16th February 2022

TEAM ENTRY FEES: $200.00

On completing this registration you are agreeing to commit to the Term 1 Season of Touch.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY TEAM WHO WITHDRAWALS  WILL STILL BE CHARGED THE FULL TEAM ENTRY FEE.

Invoices for Term 1 are to follow and are due for payment by the due date stated on the invoice.

Teams are expected to be available for all games throughout the competition, it is very difficult for us to accommodate special requests when dealing with such a large competition and number of teams.  If there are any games your school/team cannot play, please notify us immediately so we can try and organise a solution BEFOREHAND!!!

COVID 19 PROTOCOLS 

All teams will be required to provide their own teams hand sanitizers and antibacterial wipes. All players are to sanitize hands and the ball prior to the game. Waikato Touch Association will have sanitation stations on entry and exit of the fields, as well as at the registration desk.
