Shelly Park was founded in 1998 by four mothers of daughters wanting to play netball. The club started with only 6 teams in the junior section and has now expanded to 15 teams across all sections; junior, college and senior grades, with the number of teams fluctuating each year.

Traditionally Shelly Park has performed spectacularly in the competitions, either winning their grades or coming runner-ups. Many of our players are of a calibre for Howick Pakuranga Netball Association's representative team as well as a few making the Counties Manukau Rep teams over the years.  In 2021 four of our players were selected for the NNZ National Development Camp, and Premier Player Amelia Walmsley played for the Canterbury Tactix.  In addition, Amelia has recently been signed with the Central Pulse for the 2022 Season.
