Volunteer Roles:

Basic description:
Netball coaches at SB netball club are volunteers.
Coach at Saturday morning games and one training session a week from May - September.
We will give you a ‘Future Furns’ booklet for your year group that gives week by week training advice. And Netball equipment for the season.
You will be expected to please attend the Rodney Club info day on 6 April with the rest of the SB volunteers.
2) Team managers
Basic description:
1) Send a group email to your team to get phone numbers and set up a team /group in your preferred messenger ap to communicate to parents/ caregivers in your team.
2) Receive the game info each week from SB management and then send your teams game info out to parents via group message. Reminder of rule updates, hair, nails etc. Plus who will be bringing fruit or treats..(usually player of the day from last week )
3) Half time water to players
4) Organise (write names ) player of the day certificates with coach
Yr 5&6 mangers can liaise with the Umpire co ordinator in their own group message to book in their umpire for each game.
You will be expected to attend the Rodney Club info day on 6 April with the rest of the SB volunteers

4) Umpires PAID $10 per game
Year 5 & 6 games are umpired. By students who have taken part in the Kiwi Whistlers training.
Umpiring is an excellent way for our College age kids/teens to improve their netball skills for their own game, and take on an exciting new challenge and lifetime skill. Must be:
Able to attend most Saturday mornings during the netball season at Rodney
Caregiver committed to be part of the ‘Umpire messenger group’ to book and co ordinate umpire duties during the week for the up and coming Saturday.

Umpire training - Choose either Saturday 23rd March 1 - 5pm at the Rodney Netball Centre
or 17th April 9.30am - 1.30pm at the Rodney Netball Centre.
New umpires need to attend the Rodney Netball kiwi whistler program at the start of the season before being allowed to register with Rodney Netball as an umpire.
SB Netball pay umpires directly $10 per game with cash or via bank transfer.
