Everyone at Rosebank Speedway and Auckland Speedway Riders Club is incredibly proud to see Tom Sweetman inducted into the Bruce Drinkrow Memorial New Zealand Speedway Hall of Fame.

Tom Sweetman has been a much-loved and respected part of Rosebank Speedway for many years, giving his time, knowledge and experience to the club both on and off the track.

With a Speedway career that began in post-war London before he moved to New Zealand in 1970, Tom brought a wealth of racing experience to Auckland. He competed at Rosebank and became well known throughout the Speedway community for his professionalism, knowledge of the sport and his willingness to help others. 

At Rosebank, Tom has continued to give back to the sport long after his competitive racing days. He has held the positions of Assistant Steward and Head Referee, playing an important role in helping race meetings run safely, fairly and smoothly.

Tom's contribution to Rosebank goes well beyond his official roles. He has been a familiar face at training days, race meetings, and around the club, always willing to share his knowledge and experience with riders, officials, and volunteers, and a dedicated attendee of working bees, always keen to lend a hand. His understanding of Speedway and his commitment to the club have made him someone generations of Rosebank members have come to know and respect.

A Life Member of the Auckland Speedway Riders Club, Tom's connection with Rosebank reflects a lifetime dedicated to Speedway and to helping the sport continue to grow.

Rosebank Speedway would like to recognise and sincerely thank Tom Sweetman for his many years of service, support and commitment to our club. His contribution, both on the track and behind the scenes, has helped shape Rosebank Speedway and is an important part of our club's history.
