The Southland Bowling Club
Is one of New Zealand's oldest bowling clubs having been established in 1880. located on its original site in Forth street Invercargill, the green is in secluded parklands on the banks of the Otepuni creek.
The clubrooms are also home to our governing sports body Bowls Southland Click here who are located in the upstairs office.
Our outdoor season generally runs from the start of October through till the end of March, weather permitting. We are a small friendly club , currently with about 18 Bowlers and a couple of social members.
We play interclub competition feilding a team in the Bronze division. Interclub is played on Saturday afternoons and involves two games of fours and four games of pairs. These games are played betweeen 1.30pm and 4.30pm. We also play club championships , earning a lapel badge and entry on the honours board for the winners.
We endeavour to run three tournaments a year. these are the Scully fours, Hickey Triples , and a very popular Victorian Pairs Tournament.
If you are interested in taking a look at our club or having a go at Bowl's give us a call or drop in on Saturday around lunchtime.
You will be made most welcome !
