Presidents Grade In Full Swing

This weekend’s match of the round has a different feel to it, as this week we have decided to profile the Presidents Grade.

2018 has seen 14 teams enter, which has resulted in the competition being split into two pools, based on geography.  A Town based competition of seven teams and an Eastern Northern competition with seven teams.

After three weeks of hotly contested action, the Town pool is anyone’s for the taking with Star the only side yet to register a win.  Blues, Collegiate and Pirates Old-Boys are leading the way on 10 competition points.  This week, Pirates Old-Boys host Blues at Surrey Park, Collegiate play host to Waikiwi, while Star make the trip down state highway one to play Bluff.  All games kick off at 1.30pm.

In the Eastern Northern pool Pukerau and Wyndham have made the early running and are both unbeaten heading into week four.  Both Mataura and Albion Excelsior will be wanting to get a win under their belt and get off the bottom of the table.

This weekend Albion Excelsior are at home and host Waikaka, Wyndham head to Gore to take on Pioneer while Pukerau host Mataura in what is sure to be three hard fought games.  Waikaia have earnt themselves the week off (Bye) after one win and one loss so far this season.  So if you are wanting a full day of rugby viewing this Saturday and waiting until 3pm for a senior game, get out and about to cheer on your local Presidents grade team, or even make the trip out to Pukerau for a 3pm kick off!
